Hi Guys,

I am a non-EU national who is working (Legally) in Ireland part time on a work permit... I am about to setup affiliate website and I am unsure what I should be doing when it comes tax on any income I earn from it.

I am unable to start my own company either as a sole trader or LTD company as the law states i must:

  • have at least €300,000 of your own money to invest in business in Ireland
  • create employment for at least 2 Irish or EEA/Swiss nationals or at least maintain employment in an existing business
And the list goes on! I have tried everything but unless I am exempt from the impossible conditions I cannot start my own business.

Does anyone have any advice for a regular part time employee who is earning extra income through a website?

Is it easy to claim extra income?

Does anyone do it themselves?

Any thoughts or comments would be helpful.

Cheers,

Have you tried talking to an accountant?

RT @BK - you should talk to an accountant

AFAIK, if you start a company with an Irish Director, that will get you over the hiccup of incorporating (going for a limited company) but there may be others.
