Hi!
To be able to store not only text data but also other objects in a database, I want to use PostgreSQL as SQL database for an application. I have read a lot of good things about the object-relational database. Furthermore, MVCC (Multiversion Concurrency Control) is possible, which means efficient execution of accesses to the database at the same time. Complex queries are also possible and a comprehensive transaction concept is included. In order to save costs, I would like to integrate PostgreSQL in a cloud, so that I then do not need any hardware. Now I wanted to ask if I can do this myself? Or do I need a provider like Aiven for PostgreSQL? That Aiven would also be available as an open source solution, so I wouldn't have any costs, but I don't know if this is really necessary. Can any of you tell me more about this?
