iPods

I recently picked up a new iPod but I'm having a problem with it. I plugged it into my Mac and i grabbed some music and lobbed it onto the player....I then plugged it into my PC and I get a message stating that Windows wants to format it because it isn't a NTFS file system

Is there anyway to avoid this kind of thing happening? Or is this actually part of some inbuilt DRM on the iPod?

iPod won't even let you put files on from two different computers - it forces you to sync with one or the other.

Dont know about mac to pc - but pc to pc, I use ephPod

There is also an option in iTunes that allows you to turn the lock off - which prevents the syncing to a single machine
