Hi Guys,

First post, I have an ecommerce site and own the .ie, .com and .co.uk domains. The .ie site is up and running, the .co.uk site will be running soon, so what to do with .com?
Do I redirect depending on what region you are in (ie if you go to the .com site and you are in Ireland you get redirected to the .ie, same for UK)
I want to maximise the .com use, and it makes branding easier if I can use it.

Thanks,

Daniel

.ie and .co.uk

The advice I've been getting is that in having a duplicate site all be it .ie and .co.uk, that google penalise one of them by only ranking the stronger of the two. eg. if you have more links to .ie versu .co.uk or vica versa.

Your answer is in your question.

If you want to develop your .com then develop a site on it. Redirects are just that - redirects. Develop a localised site for each country like you would in any other business. The one site, multiple country/domains is a myth..
