PageRank Dead OR Major Update underway?

I changed the url structure on 3 of my sites and 301'd the old url's to the new ones. On all sites the homepage pr either stayed the same or went up (from pr4 to pr5) but all the inner pages have stayed at pr0. Does anyone else have experience of 301'd url's and how it affects the pagerank.

It's all irrelevant really though as my serps have gone up, just puzzled by google thinking.
