Simple Machines Forum

[wheres me jumpa]

Just noticed a thread on a PHPBB forum being spammed. Used to use PHPBB, site got defaced and I was overrun with spammers. Put me off forums for a while but about two months ago I installed Simple Machines Forum, see here Simple Machines - Home of SMF: Free PHP and MySQL forum software.

Its been a joy. Its on a small scale but even so the difference between the two on a small scale for me has been huge. Has anyone else used/heard of SMF?

I am using SMF and found it very good. Few adds-on also that makes it better then other forums i have seen.

Just installed it a couple of weeks ago, and seems pretty good. There is a component in Joomla that integrates SMF with Joomla.

SMF looks nice alright. Haven't had a chance to play around with it but what I have seen so far has been impressive. They have some nice templates available for it.

I'd be more impressed with bbPress support forums for a free forum. BBpress is a Wordpress spin off. Looks very pleasent. I tried installing it on my blog domain to test it out but the installation isn't that great. The current release is the first stable release.
