By failure I mean, unable to make any,or a negligible amount of money. And success as a livable wage and above.

I would say its about 95% or more

hope this is the right area for this thread

Globally?

It's hard one to call as some people / companies will be working on multiple things at once, so how do you calculate failure? Failure overall or failure with a single project / plan?

Hmmm

I suspect it's high, but I'd have difficulty putting a figure on it
We see a lot of people coming to us with "wonderful ideas" that are going to be "big"
Most of them aren't.
Some of them have modest success and people are able to pay bills
Others vanish

I would say its high too. 90% is an interesting number to take a stab at.

2/3rds of the calls we used to get (say 2006-2008) were untouchable. But thats dropped an awful amount since 2010. To be honest, the number of people finding success online is really growing - its a plethora of different types. That doesn't however discount against the many who setup domains and do nothing with them - not sure if failure to launch is the same as failure after launch - I'd class them separately.

Good question Trick!

Just talking about affiliate marketing alone here ... but I reckon around 3% of those who try can make a full time wage out of it. It's tough!

However, the rest should at least be able to make some pocket money.
