Why is the sale of dot ie domains not allowed?

Why is the sale of dot ie domains not allowed, here on Irish Webmaster Forum? I don't actually have any .ie domains to sell, just curious as to the reason for this rule.

Because the registry forbids the sale of domains.

It would have to be a limited company - you can't "sell" an RBN

That's true, there technically is a legal loophole but not going to note it online for legal reasons

The entire IE registration process needs a review IMHO, the acceptance process really can be hit and miss with no absolute formula to follow. Thats been my experience at least if youve anything outside of a bog standard application going through.
