Good post and nice blog but few pointers.

You don't need to submit a site/blog to the search engines, a few quality back links will have the bots crawling the site.

I would never advise for anyone to use adwords on a site that isn't selling something, waste of money to be honest.

I get a lot of organic traffic to my main blog and I haven't used most of the techniques that you mention
