You are confusing me with all these new thingies.

First of all you give me a pimple saying I'm on a distinguished road.

Then you stick up a weighing scales so that I can "add to a reputation"

What are these all about?

Now you are giving us titles?

You can call me "Sir", "Your holiness" or "M'lud" but not "Ma'am".

Anyway I already have a title - "member" [very distinguished!]

You could always change mine to "Moderator" :D

you can change that yourself, noober!

------------------

Frontpage User is a bit harsh..maybe noober or noob or noobie or something noob related might be more fitting?

I resent the assertion that I use frontpage. :(
(I use Notepad++, it is most certainly for teh win.)

I think any connection between post-count and skill-level is misleading and/or degrading.
I'd suggest a grade from "New user" to "Part of the furniture".
Give credit where it's due and not accolades for spamming.

Hmm.. it would be nice to have a combo box of options for those titles. So people can say what they do without saying it sort of.

Stuff like "Code Monkey" for coders, "Spamming Link whore" for black hat SEOs (sorry.. couldn't resist urge - do we have any here?), "DNS Valet" for domaining people etc.

Maybe have this description thingy as an option in the signup form. I think vBulletin has this? not sure though.

Yes - that's true. I really like the idea of anonymous posting for that reason. There was an interesting blog post on anonymous forums and communities on 4[the most unlikely place to find useful information]chan - but that's down, and i don't have the url to search webarchive so no linkage.
