If I was to be cynical about it, I'd say that the US market for gullible domainers willing to pay to hear how people struck it rich in a boom market is fished out and now some of the big US players are trying to get into the ccTLD business. It is too expensive and a lot of ccTLD domaining tends to be highly localised.

There have been a few EU run domainer events over the last couple of years and most of them have either been very economically priced or free.

There is a Daytime Only Pass (excluding evening activities)
(European Residents Only) $395 (€281) which is a fair price for 4 days conference / seminars.

The main reason for going to a domainer event is for the evening stuff - it's where you get most things done.

Nope. Grabbin a couple day passes.
The legal session should be interesting - Paul Keating is the guy who acted for the Ovidio/.eu operation. That direct nav op has dropped at least half of its 75K .eu domains over the last few years.

The courtcase is still ongoing
Yep but the damage is done. And unless it results in a cast iron precedent that can be used against cyberwarehousers and cybersquatters like Dotster, Jay Westerdal, Ray King et al, then it will be a useless exercise that will only provide the veneer of justice for the incompetence of Eurid's legal team.
