What should be the maximum length of the URL for SEO purposes?

I don't know of a maximum, but I always advise to keep URLs as short as possible, and keep them clean and keyword based.

You should optimise for humans first, spiders second - and long URLs are not human friendly.

I agree with maximise, its better your URL is short because it is easy to memorized. And I think visitors are want short URL too.

I think there is no limit regarding URL's... but the shorter the better for visitor to memorized...

There is no minimum length for URL but select good and your business related domain name.

Because if you choose your business related domain name then you will get more exposure in Google search engine results. Your website will arrive quickly.

I concur with everyone else - the shorter the better. But also try to make them as descriptive as possible.
