WEIRD - anyone ever see this before?

I have seen that when I do an unusually heavy amount of searches in a short period of time. I do not understand it though unless they suspect that you are not a human.

Yes, Google's ToS restricts usage to humans only - if they think you're doing a large amount of automated or Pass Through searches, they spring up a human check. You can use their API for large search volumes or automated. Factors include pattern matching, repetitive searching, search volume, actions taken, depth of results scanned. I.e. if you run 30 searches in 30 seconds and scan every results page to 30 and there is a similar time between each click/search then it could suspect automation that way.

this happened to me after going through websites and checking their backlinks through Google, it must have thought I was a bot who was trying to find backlinks to use as my own or something like that.
but yeah malicous softwear is an option too.
