Hi, you'd probably should have a specialist to make a dising, cuz right now it looks like a set of banners.

very simple comment ... would not buy

Doesn't look in the least bit professional page / colours / design is all over the shop

If this has taken you a year and thats what you've got .. give up and get a designer to help you out

Sorry to be critical but I assume this is your business

thanks for your comment, when i say 1 year prob 2-3 hours a week, must admit it needs tidying up, but as i said no money for designers, and it would be easy to use a template and look like all the rest, thanks again, Steve

Looking like all the rest is not necessarily a bad thing. The alternative here seems to be looking really unprofessional ?

If one were to consider the lost revenue from people going to the site and thinking oh thats not professional does this reflect in their service as well ? Or simply just moving on to a site that yes ... uses a template and looks like all the rest.

Anyways all that aside ... a few pointers

The backgrounds in your header seem to be #000000 #161616 and #222222

The left hand freesat logo = sharp and clean. Drop the right hand side one .. its background is #222222 ... its also a fuzzy logo and the lettering is blurred

You seem to be using WAY too much inline css in your code

You're also using way too much absolute positioning and things look broken as a result

I agree with a lot of these comments. You should have the whole thing redesigned as right now it looks like a site that was created in 1994, not to be mean. You definitely have a lot of potential there and I don't think its being utilized.

If you were just learning html and css for fun, then I would say well done, and it would be commendable, a learning experience etc.

However if you intend to have a serious business, then you will need a professional looking website. You want customers to think you are trustoworthy, up to date, expert, desirable etc. You are in business to make money, and you need to give yourself every advantage you can. This website will hold you back massively. Running with it would be stubborn or sentimental or misguided or all three and more.

You are right in saying that there are too many bland templates and themes out there. But if you spent a few hours researching, I think you'll find that there are also some amazing themes and templates available. If you put the amount of time you say you've been working on this into googling a good css theme or wordpress template, then you would have a really good site.

I did a quick search and this is one that I found that might work:
Meridian - Its css, 22 US dollars.

In fact though, I would not even be content with that one, if you search, you will find something really spectacular. There are thousands of templates out there.

Hi Steve

The site functions well and you seem to have gotten your html and css skills to a good level. But I have to agree with the other posters that the design and layout of your site is just not professional enough.

Like the other posters said, i think you should consider using a template. There are many available that will give your site the professional look it needs, while still looking unique. You should check out themeforest.net. They have hundreds of templates available, and they seem to be very high quality (PS. i'm in no way assosiated with this site, just impressed with what they have on offer).

I don't think you would need to get professional help as you suggest either. Your html and css skills would be plenty to modify a template and add your content. If you do need any help choosing and modifying a template, you can drop me a pm.
