HostingDirectory.ie - initial impressions?

Actually I can offer a small bit of on-topic feedback - I would imagine that many people looking for hosting have no idea about Linux vs. windows.

Perhaps 'Budget Hosting', 'Business Hosting', 'Irish Based Hosting'.

Maybe categorise for the broadest audience?

[OT I just spell-checked this with Google toolbar and it suggested that I capitalise Linux and leave windows alone :)]

do you find the script you are using for hostingdirectory.ie is better that the script you use for search.ie and browse.ie.

It's not better - it's simply different :)

The scripts work in quite different ways. Indexu relies on mod_rewrite to give "static" URLs (with a bit of caching), whereas Glinks (Gossamer Threads) actually builds static files.

In terms of scalability I would expect Glinks to scale a lot better as users browsing etc., wouldn't be pulling much from the database, while it also uses Perl instead of PHP.

Now all you need to do is change all those green and orange background images to a very pail blue or grey :)
