Not sure if this is "news" or not, but someone posted about it to a mailing list I'm on

Just a note on that. I have the website in the works, or at least half in the works. Suffering concussion already from the number of brick walls i've hit, but i suppose it's the experience that counts.Don't think its exactly news ... too much ... but Magento seems like it could be about to do good things ... the code base seems quite clean ... the templates and so on ...
I think Nevf mentioned he's going to be using it on a site in the works.
Have a simple enough project and I think this could be overkill for it but I'll see. Don't really have time to go figuring out how to template it right now though.
yes, magento is a new, less than 2 year old project, but is expanding rapidly...Lack of modules must be down to how new it is, i'd say they'll expand as with all these sorts of projects.
out of curiousity, what problems have you encountered?I'm doing two Magento websites. If anybody is interested I'll let you know how I get on. It is a little bit rough around the edges, but it has some fine features.
Perhaps a realex gateway if it doesn't exist. I'll keep you posted.
or just save the credit card numbers and then process them later as are preparing to ship the product. and then just use SSL.
there is a payment option in magento named "save CC numbers".Save them where? How?
encrypted as in...?That sounds incredibly dodgy. Are the numbers encrypted?
encrypted as in...?
Haven't a clue. I'll have to go back and check that out tonight. I wouldn't imagine so though. How are they stored in the database?
Good ideaBy the sounds of things you should disable that option completely:
